Our Candidate Forums Team organized two candidate forums for the June 2, 2026 Primary Election, so that Marin County voters can learn about the candidates running to represent them.

"Debate Night in California: The Race for Governor" featured “leading candidates” for California Governor (those polling at 5% or higher). The debate was moderated by Nikki Laurenzo ("Inside California Politics") and Frank Buckley (KTLA). This Nexstar Media production will be broadcast live from KRON4 Studios in San Francisco. It will be televised across all Nexstar California stations, including KRON4 (SF), KTLA (LA), KSWB/KUSI (San Diego), KTXL (Sacramento), KGET (Bakersfield), and KSEE (Fresno). CNN will host a California gubernatorial primary debate with candidates who have at least 3% support.
CNN anchors Elex Michaelson and Kaitlan Collins will moderate. The event will take place in the Los Angeles area and be televised. Participating candidates include Xavier Becerra (D), Chad Bianco (R), Steve Hilton (R), Matt Mahan (D), Katie Porter (D), Tom Steyer (D), and Antonio Villaraigosa (D)
