IMPORTANT

  • The Elections Dept & USPS recommend mailing your ballot back at least one week before Election Day .

  • If it is less than one week before Election Day, then the Elections Dept & USPS recommend you return your ballot to a ballot drop box, vote center, the elections dept. OR take it to a post office counter and get a hand stamped postmark.

NOTE: USPS no longer postmarks envelopes when they receive them. Postmarks are done at regional distribution facilities, usually several days after an envelope is dropped off .

Writing the date on your ballot return envelope in the designated space helps confirm it was returned on time.

The elections you vote in and what is on your ballot are determined by where you live.

Cities, school districts and special districts (water, sanitation, etc.) are examples of voting districts - eligible voters who live in each district vote for representatives such as council/board members as well as on ballot measures.
