WEBINAR: Redistricting - What It Means and The Role of Nonprofits
Thursday, Feb 18, 2pmET/11amPT
The foundational principle of our democracy is the notion of "one person, one vote," however achieving this vision is no simple feat. At least once every 10 years, states use data gathered during the Census to revisit (and usually redraw) their district maps to meet strict requirements for population equality and voting rights protections. This process is called redistricting and it impacts where and who falls within a district. While the process can be complex and the ramifications tremendous, there are simple engagement strategies nonprofit organizations like yours can adopt to ensure the fair representation of the community you serve.
