Healthcare Committee Meets on May 23rd at 9:30 a.m. in the League office F 108 and will be provided with an update from Dr. Larry Meredith, Director of Healthcare and Human Services for Marin. Larry has spent the last year completely restructuring his large department, the largest in Marin County government, in order to do as much as possible with lower funding.

Elizabeth has faithfully attended the board meetings for many years now, reporting to the Action Committee on COM. She has decided to retire as an observer, and the board wants to express their appreciation for her keeping the League and others informed on COM.

On April 30th, the International Relations group hosted guest speaker Zaida Arguedas, Deputy Executive Director of the League of Women Voters and Director of Global Democracy Programs. Zaida provided interesting and informative insights into the League’s Global Democracy Program, a key initiative to encourage and support informed and active participation in government.

Ailene Taylor - in memory February 15, 2012

Aileen Taylor, who celebrated in 2010 her 50th year as a member of the LWV here in Marin, passed away February 15, 2012 after a short illness. A celebration of Ailene’s life will be held on March 3rd at 2:00 at the First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael. Ailene was the Marin League’s historian for 20 years until 2010.
