WHAT WE DO
 |
| The League of Women Voters has been making democracy work by providing grassroots leadership
since 1920.
|
 |
| In Marin County, we provide many voter services, including voter registration,
sponsoring candidate and issues debates, and performing impartial analyses of ballot measures.
We closely monitor issues of importance to the community, attending meetings of
boards, councils, and commissions where the issues are discussed and decisions are made. We may write letters,
join committees, or endorse ballot measures, based on the positions of Leagues at all levels.
|
 |
The best way to become acquainted with our current activities is to attend an Action Committee meeting,
open to the public and held the first Monday of each month
from 9:30 to 11:00 at the League Office. These meetings provide an overview of actions
taken by each committee in the previous month. Or, you can read the Action Notes in the latest edition of
our newsletter, The Voter.
